Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams my darling, the day is done.
The moon is here to say goodnight to the sun.

Gather your blankets and climb into bed.
Close your eyes and lay down your head.

Rest for now with peaceful dreams,
Of twinkling stars and shining moon beams.

Sweet dreams my darling, sweet dreams my love,
Sweet dreams my precious gift from above.

Our Belated Christmas Celebration

Each of the kids got a pillowcase made out of minky fabric - sooooo soft and snuggly!

Sarah had been wanting an dog agility set to train Molly for some time.  She was quite thrilled to finally receive it!

Christian was shocked and elated to open up a box containing a Glock!  I should have taken a picture of Andrew's face -- he was looking so wistfully and wantingly at Christian.  He didn't know that there was a box containing his Glock sitting at his feet!  I purposely wrapped them in different sized boxes so when one opened theirs, the other wouldn't know.

It wasn't long before Andrew was exclaiming that Mom and Dad rock because he got a Glock!

The kids have been asking for a voice training program - voila!

Anticipation . . . .

I found this great bag for my horse girl on the "etsy" website - click on the picture to enlarge.

Shirts and ties for the boys - I love it that they enjoy dressing up!

Some Donita K. Paul books for my voracious little reader, and also got her a set of 12 Nancy Drew books.

Tom got a leather bound copy of  "The Valley of Vision:  A Collection of Puritan Prayers and Devotionals."  Rich, rich, rich!!!!!

And he got a new Lands End coat to replace the one that Boo chewed the zipper on.  Seven years ago.  That's right.  He's been wearing a coat with a broken, chewed up zipper for seven years.  When I have tried to get him a new one in the past, he has claimed that he's fine.  Such a sacrificial guy.

Yikes.  What a mess.

Anticipating our yummy ham dinner!

Luke and Daddy all tuckered out after a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas!

Tom will be getting in late this evening from a four-day trip, so we postponed the opening of our gifts until the 26th so that he can join in the festivities too.
Have you ever tried telling kids that they can't open any presents on Christmas Day??!!  There was great moaning and groaning, so they were allowed to open their present from Nana and Papa.  They were very excited to receive a Wi.  WI.  WII.  Wii.  Whatever.  The point is that they loved it and had lots of fun playing with it the rest of the day!

Sarah made a gingerbread house for our table center piece.

Ta da!!!!  Awesome Sarah!

Christmas Eve

Nana and Papa are coming to Georgia today!  Woo hoo!

Momma has lots of  preparations to take care before they arrive, so baby Luke is riding in the Moby Wrap (the best invention EVER) until they get here.  They kids say he looks like a Jedi!

Nana finally gets to meet her new grandbaby!

Papa holding his #6 grandchild!

We enjoyed an evening full of yummy food and fun around the fire!

First Visit With Haley

We took Luke for his first visit to see Haley when he was 3 1/2 weeks old.

 GG was there too!

This is Sweeney, Haley's cat.  HE. WAS. HILARIOUS.

Tom made friends with Sweeney.  Tom makes friends with every cat he meets.  Well, almost.  It seems I remember a cat we named Remington that was a stray at our New River Way house.  He made Tom really, really mad after he sprayed one of the benches from the Excursion that was sitting temporarily (an hour tops) in the driveway while the Excursion was used to transport some cargo.  Let's just say that things didn't end so well for Remington.  But that's not what this post is about.  It's supposed to be about Luke's first visit with Haley.  I definitely have ADD.

Brothers

A LITTLE BROTHER FOLLOWS ME
A careful boy I want to be; a little brother follows me. I do not dare to go astray for fear he’ll go the self-same way.
I cannot once escape his eyes; whate’er he see me do, he tries.
Like me he says he’s going to be- that little brother following me.
He thinks that I am good and fine; believes in every word of mine.
The bad in me he must not see- that little brother following me.
I must remember as I go through summer’s sun and winter’s snow
I’m building for the years to be that little brother following me.
