Luke has found his right fist and is quite enamored with it! He stares intently at it, he chews on it, he waves it in the air, and he bats at the little, stuffed animals hanging from his bouncy seat with it. When he goes to bed, his right fist is jammed in his mouth providing comfort until he drifts off to sleep. Is this a foreshadowing of things to come? Will he suck his thumb? His fingers? Will he be right handed?
Some fun facts about Luke:
Fact 1
Fact 1
Luke does not like to be held when he is tired. Do not even try to rock him to sleep - he will holler! I have learned to lay him down in his bed and he falls asleep quickly without any fuss.
Fact 2
Luke loves his fist. See explanation about fist under picture above.
Fact 3
Fact 3
Luke is growing. Fast. ~sigh~ Kinda makes me sad. He doesn't want to nestle up against my chest anymore like he did as a newborn. He holds his head up because he wants to see! I'm having difficulty making him understand that his head control isn't that great, so he needs to snuggle a little more. Holding him is definitely a two-handed endeavor as he is determined to hold his head up despite being a bobble head!
Fact 4
Luke likes to sleep. A lot. I think he's practicing to be a teenager already. His schedule today went something like this:
9:30 p.m.yesterday - Down for the night
4:30 a.m. - Woke up for a bottle and went right back to sleep
9:30 a.m. - Woke up for the day
11:00 a.m. - Down for a morning nap
12:30 p.m. - Up from nap
2:00 p.m. - Down for afternoon nap
5:00 p.m. - Up from nap
7:00 p.m. - Down for evening nap
8:00 p.m. - Up from nap
9:30 p.m. - Down for the night
That's a lot of sleepin'. About 16 - 17 hours a day. Unless we're out of the house. See Fact 5.
Fact 5
Luke will only sleep in his bed. If you have him out and about during nap time, it's not going to be pretty. He'll be unhappy, which in turn, will make everyone else unhappy. Best to be home at nap time.
Fact 6
His eyes are still blue, but I think they may be starting to turn a different color. Green maybe?
Fact 7
IT IS A JOY TO HAVE HIM IN OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!
