Sarah Goes to Horse Camp

Sarah spent a very fun and educational week at horse camp July 9 - 13. She has been taking private lessons for a couple of months, and this experience helped to solidify her learning so far. She was dropped off at 10:00 each morning, and picked up at 3:00 each afternoon. In between, she learned how to muck out a stall (not fun, but necessary), ride bare back, she learned about horsemanship and showing horses, made various crafts, and did a lot of riding.

These are a few of the resident Welsh Corgies that reside at Meneely Show Horses. Those fat bellies are because these girls are about to have pups! The dogs actually are a part of the training -- I've seen them in the ring chasing and barking at the heels of lazy horses!
